Boring Week but Exciting Weekend

All the excitement of settling in and getting used to the "new" things and lifestyle is getting more of a routine and with that the news becomes less.

We had this little idea of beginning last week to buy our own little car instead of renting one.  Well, after looking at some cars we decided it would be more economical by just sticking with the car services for our remaining ten months.  It does have its drawbacks but the money saved makes up for it.  At least we don't have to care about maintenance and selling it after our stay here.

We also had the opportunity to have lunch with Sai, Teresa's colleague and friend, earlier this last week.  He's a vegetarian and we went to a place in Inorbit Mall that claims it's the first South Indian Bistro.  They serve just vegetarian food and after knowing what is what you can enjoy a decent meal.

Friday evening was a late night for us, we joined some fellow expats at the News Cafe.  I only got to bed just before 3am sometime and that caused us to sleep in a little on Saturday.

Oh yeah, Saturday I made some Bobotie.  After speaking to a fellow South African on Friday evening we got a craving for Bobotie.  I bought some lamb mince (ground lamb for my US friends) and for a Mrs Balls Chutney replacement I got a Mango Chutney that I mixed up with Apricot Jam.  It came out great considering I had to experiment with some ingredients.  We took it over to our friends place and had a great time again the Saturday night.  At least the weekend was full of excitement and fun.

Sunday we went to church that was recommended to us by another South African family we met a couple of weeks ago.  We had lunch with them after church at Inorbit Mall and ended up spending a couple of hours just talking.

Teresa got some hopefully exciting news last week at work, they will be moving offices to a new building that is just a short ride from our place.

Well, that is all for know.
