What week??

Wow, this week just zipped past and it is gone!  Teresa's bosses came for a visit from the USA and we were out of routine the whole week.

The visitors arrived on Tuesday morning early and we met up with them Tuesday morning and Teresa took them across the road to their offices.  It was a busy week for Teresa and I did not get to see much of Teresa, she left for work earlier than usual and stayed out late with a business dinner about every night.  They had a "potluck" lunch type thing on Friday and I was volunteered to make some samosas.  I prepared them on Wednesday and froze them to safe time on Friday.  By freezing them I only had to fry them quickly and that saved a lot of time.  Teresa did get a couple of compliments and that made me feel good, I must admit that I also loved them.  I had to make myself some tasters.

On Saturday we got to take the visitors for some sight seeing and I looked forward to it the whole week.  We arranged with our driver to bring a bigger car and that made the lots of driving much more comfortable.  We decided to go to Golconda Fort first since that was the longest and most walking and we wanted to get that done before it got too hot.  The big Baobab tree is only a couple of minutes drive from there and that was our second stop.  It was a short stop since you can admire a tree only for that long.

From there we left for Beyond Coffee for a refreshing cold drink and something lite to snack on.  We relaxed too much and realized nearly two hours later that we had lots of other places to see and visit.  Our first stop for the second part of the day was the Charminar.  The drive their took a long time due to crazy traffic but we finally got there and jumped out for a quick photo session.  We were swamped by beggars and that shortened our stop even further, they were really persistent.

Our final touristy stop was the Chowmahalla Palace which is located only about five minutes from the Charminar.  The Chowmahalla Palace was as usual one of the more interesting places to visit and it looked like everybody enjoyed it.  After leaving the palace we went to Inorbit Mall to replace a bag of one of the visitors that did not make it to India in one piece.  We had a quick refreshing drink at News Cafe before we dropped on of the two visitors off.  The day was long and we did a lot and by then, it was already seven o'clock at night.  We did however got to take one of them to the Sahib Sindh Sultan for dinner and after that we called it quits.

On Sunday afternoon we took one of the visitors shopping at the local Arts and Crafts market and a couple of other touristy shops.  We enjoyed some Mexican food at La Catina for lunch and after all the shopping we popped in at the Chocolate Room for something sweet and chocolaty.

The nets in front of the buildings are there for protection against the protesters.  These guys are really angry about something and they can cause some serious damage to buildings.

This Rickshaw driver takes a lot of pride in his Rickshaw.
I am just glad that I am not an electrician in India.
Meat any one?
Hmm, wonder why we have so many power outings?
The fun started with making all the samosas.
The filling, it was lamb.
You fold it like this.
And from another angle, just to make sure you are following me.
You fill it like this and close it up.
And this is what you end up.
After repeating above steps a good couple of times you end up with this.
Like I said, I cannot make all these and keep out a couple of testers.
I enjoyed them.
A visitor, I wanted to adopt him and already named him "Count Dracula" but he did not return.  It turned out to be a good thing since Teresa did not like Count that much.
Count did not like the bright light from the camera and bathroom lights and moved around a little.  I think it might be the reason he decided not to return.
Chris, Sai, Kelly and Teresa on top of Golconda Fort.
Charminar.
We have never seen one in Hyderabad except on the showroom floor.  This one was still brand new as it was not registered yet.
We got to see two of them.  Some people just makes to much money as they cost about $245000 a piece.  Well, that is what our driver told us.
