This week, MALDIVES!!

It has been nearly two months that we booked our trip to the Maldives and the time has arrived!  We are excited about this trip, it is one of those places that you just never thought about ever visiting.  Even when we first decided to come to India and Teresa said she wants to go to the Maldives I thought,  "How will that ever be possible?"  The reality of going to the Maldives only came up when one of our friends convinced us that it was not that impossible.  Two days later our trip was planned and booked!  We will be going to Kandooma Island, it is small island 35 kilometers south of Male where the airport is located.  More about the Maldives in next weeks blog.

Our week returned back to normal on Tuesday, we had Teresa's bosses over for dinner on Monday and dropped them off at the airport for their flight back to Nashville.  It was fun being able to entertain people and show them around.  Hopefully we get this opportunity again soon.

Teresa got a whole lot of peanuts from somebody at her office and I decided to make some peanut butter.  I nearly ended up regretting that soon after.  It kept me busy for a good couple of hours, washing the peanuts, roasting and pealing it.  Once that was done the rest was quick, popping all the peanuts in the blender with a little oil and soon after we had peanut butter.  I did roast the peanuts a little to long but it turned out rather nice.

Thursday was St Patrick's day and what do you know, they even celebrate it in India!  Teresa had to work but I decided to meet up with some friends at Beyond Coffee where a couple of expats have a make shift band and they play together for the fun of it.  It is very relaxed and the sing a long atmosphere makes for some great laughter.

We tried out a Chinese restaurant on Saturday for lunch, we had some duck, octopus and chicken noodles.  They serve everything family style so we ended up ordering too much food again!  Not that our driver, Ahmed minds since he always ends up with the leftovers.

That brings me to Sunday, what a day!  It is days like Sunday that makes our stay in India fun and worthwhile.  We started the day off with a ten o'clock foot treatment appointment for forty five minutes after which we had a stone therapy message for seventy five minutes.  It was our first time experiencing that and hopefully we will do something like this again soon.  They use warm and cold stones to message you with, it was extremely relaxing and I had to concentrate not to fall asleep.

Shortly after the peanuts became peanut butter.

BBQ Station at ISTA Hotel for our lunch.

It was a beautiful day out in the sun and we decided to sit outside.
